First Birthday Photos

A baby’s first birthday is a special moment not only for the child but also for the parents. The celebration highlights all of the milestones within the year from conquering the nursing, crying, diaper changes and seemingly endless need to adapt lifestyles and schedules around the baby’s own time table. Everyone also sees the babies progression in life, from how tall, how big and how many teeth come in. We learn about the words they learn to say, the foods they like and all the achievements along the way. It’s a fun and fascinating road for everyone following along.

Why am I talking about this?  Well… because this past weekend I had the opportunity to photograph the first birthday party for Adelynn Evernham. Adelynn’s parents are Danny and Jennifer and also family friends. I had taken some photos of them casually as a guest at their wedding not so long ago.

Since then life has been busy for the Evernham’s obviously and when Jennifer asked about photos of the first birthday party I was more then happy to help document the day. A day which happened to land near Halloween which was going to make it all the more fun as guests were asked to arrive in costume…FUN!

The party is just what you’d expect so I won’t bother describing the scene I’ll just let the photos do some of the talking.

There were lots of nice photos to be made of the guests and their children as well.

The day was fun and had it not been for the fact that I was battling a really bad cold it have been a really great way to spend a weekend day with friends and family.  All in all there were some nice photos to be made and I think considering how I was feeling at the time I manage to execute that quite well.
