Roof Collapses at Sandy Hook Fort Hancock

Not too long ago I wrote an entry where I talked about the sad state of affairs of the buildings at Fort Hancock in Sandy Hook.  The buildings there of world war era are badly falling apart.  Just about every part of them has issues from bricks falling off, porches are destroyed or porches that are still present you couldn’t stand on if you tried.  The additional damage sustained as a result of Super Storm Sandy didn’t help the situation either.

So this is a quick update to the above post to report that one of the buildings there had a major roof collapse this past weekend. It’s really sad to see the condition of these beautiful buildings and while there is a pilot plan to try and restore these buildings at this rate there’s not going to be much left to restore if things don’t move at a quicker pace.
